INTRODUCTION

Blockchain came into existence after bitcoin was introduced to the world because bitcoin was built using a blockchain technology. It saves time and energy and it’s advantageous in that it’s secure, transparent and immutable, cheaper and faster than the traditional methods. Nick Szabo is a cryptographer and noticed that blockchain could be used as a smart contract. Smart contracts could also be called digital contracts or blockchain contracts. Nick realized that smart contracts would solve the problems associated with traditional ones such as high commission charges by the middlemen and human error

Smart contracts help to exchange properties, money, or anything between the parties involved in a conflict-free manner without the need for a middleman or a third party. Smart contracts replace the services of banks, lawyers, agencies and its transactions cannot be tampered with once executed. Its automated, contracts are converted to computer codes and are stored which is then monitored by various computers running the blockchain. With smart contracts, transparent and secured transactions are made without the need for a third party. Interestingly, a platform has been developed which makes the creation of smart contracts an easy task. This platform is called Ethlimited
